To Demo or not to Demo | Bathroom Renovation
How often do you do a demo (demolition) in the home you are actually living in and stay in it as it progresses? I use to do this all the time in my two prior RI real estate homes but I was younger and renovations didn't bother me as much as they do now. Making a decision to demolish my main bathroom has been a year in my head. I was tired of looking at the floor to ceiling roses in the tile that the former owner did to 'enhance' the space...ughh! Was I willing to give up vacations or a new car purchase to do it now? Yes, as you can see the bathroom renovation demo is underway.
We are always good as real estate agents about guiding buyers on what they can do to 'take down this wall', 'add this space', 'enlarge this space' or update the bathroom but it does take some grit. There are bound to be missteps to handle, contractors to call back, and online stores who just can not seem to get an unbroken light fixture shipped right (boy, do I appreciate walk in stores better!).
It is good to demo once every several years some house room as a real estate agent...the inconveniences and joys of the process should be front and center on our minds. I look forward to my new bath but will remember the process oh so much more vividly as I guide my clients in the future. To Demo or not to Demo | Bathroom Renovation.
