Out and About in Wickford RI: Wickford RI Offers More Than a Village To All

Wickford RI Offers More Than a Village To All

Wickford Rhode Island - Stop By the Bee Man

Real estate is always local and in Wickford RI we have so much to offer home buyers here.  Working with home buyers and sellers in this locale keeps you on the top of your home selling game.  Knowing your community and what it has to offer is essential when marketing for sellers.  And I know my Wickford and North Kingstown well.  I want to share a well founded grass roots bee business that has been thriving here.  There is nothing like local bee honey.  We are fortunate in and around Wickford to have apiaries that supply all the locals with all they need.  SheridanSheridan Apiary honey jar  Apiaries at 180 Tower Hill Road, Wickford, RI 02852 is one of my favorites.

The bee man is Dick and he is someone you should meet.  His honey is flavorful, healthy and if you have allergies to outdoor things (pollen, etc.) it really helps to reduce the impact on the body when local honey is ingested.

You can usually  catch him on the weekends but here is the phone number to contact him:  401.450.9201.  Best to give him a call to see when he may be at his local stand.

Asking some questions about his bees I found out that the worker bees never let the temperature of the hive get below 55 degrees throughout the winter! Is that amazing...those worker bees have to keep that Queen Bee warm!

Hope you are able to catch him this season and stock up on your own supply of honey.

Good morning Ginny Gorman ,

Great shout out for the grass roots bee business founded in Wickford in North Kingston. Sounds like Sheridan Apiaries is a good one. Thanks for sharing! I love honey!

Hello Ginny Gorman,  With all the bees killed in the Carolina last week you better stock up on honey because prices are going up fast.

Hi Ginny, love the local flavor of this post. Literally. Ha. ( I love hearing all the stories about your area via Andy, it really makes me want to come visit - especially for the icecream give-aways. :) )

What a great localism post Ginny. I like to try honeys from all regions. They each have their own unique flavor.

Ginny one of the people I work with has bee hives and makes some of it available for sale.  You are right nothing like fresh local honey.
